Howard University students and alumni are in for a special treat this December with the upcoming release of the "Howard University" Nike Air Force 1 Low. This sneaker is the latest in Nike's Yardrunners series, which highlights the legacies of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) through unique footwear designs.
The "Howard University" Air Force 1 Low puts a unique spin on the classic silhouette, moving away from the school's traditional red and blue color palette seen on the previous Jordan 1 Low release. Instead, this model takes on a more animalistic aesthetic, honoring the school's bison mascot.
The upper is crafted in a clean "Sail" leather, while the Swoosh, backtab, lining, and outsole all appear in a dark brown hue. The only distinct Howard University branding can be found on the lateral side of the toe overlay, where the printed coordinates lead directly to the center of the school's campus.
This special release is set to drop on December 18th, 2024 through select retailers like DTLR. An official SNKRS release date has not yet been announced, so be sure to keep a close eye on release information.
Howard University students and alumni have a lot to be proud of when it comes to their school's partnership with Nike and Jordan Brand. The "Howard University" Air Force 1 Low continues to build on this legacy, offering a unique and stylish take on the iconic silhouette that is sure to be a hit among the Bison community and sneaker enthusiasts alike.
