Sneaker Politics Unveils Exclusive ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 for SXSW

As the sneaker world continues to evolve, retailers are constantly seeking unique ways to engage their customers and stand out from the crowd. Sneaker Politics, the respected retail empire founded by Derek Curry, has done just that with their latest collaborative project.

Announced today, Sneaker Politics has teamed up with ASICS to create an exclusive version of the highly sought-after GEL-Kayano 14 silhouette. The special sneaker is set to launch in conjunction with the upcoming SXSW event in Austin, Texas, where Sneaker Politics has a dedicated storefront.

The ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 "Just Say No" edition draws inspiration from the iconic anti-drug campaign led by former First Lady Nancy Reagan. The sneaker features a striking color scheme, with gold and silver overlays complemented by a vibrant pop of red on the heel. The midsole boasts a pre-aged cream yellow hue, allowing the GEL inserts to truly shine.

Adding to the story, the insoles showcase a hemp pattern covered in a bold red shade, further reinforcing the "Just Say No" theme. This exclusive release will be available first at the Sneaker Politics Austin location on March 8th, 2025 at 11 AM CT, with a limited online raffle running from March 5th through the 8th. Any remaining pairs will then be made available for purchase on the Sneaker Politics website on March 10th at 9 AM CT.

"As we continue to expand our footprint across the South, this exclusive ASICS collaboration is the perfect way to celebrate the vibrant SXSW community in Austin," said Sneaker Politics founder Derek Curry. "The 'Just Say No' theme resonates strongly with our brand ethos, and we're excited to bring this unique product to our loyal customers and the wider sneaker enthusiast community."

The ASICS GEL-Kayano 14 "Just Say No" is sure to be a highly coveted release, blending the heritage of the iconic silhouette with Sneaker Politics' signature storytelling approach. Sneaker fans and SXSW attendees alike will have the opportunity to secure this exclusive pair, solidifying Sneaker Politics' position as a leading voice in the industry.
