Kendrick Lamar and SZA have secured the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the second consecutive week with their collaborative single "Luther." This marks Kendrick's 6th #1 hit and SZA's first.
The song reclaimed the top position after briefly being knocked off by Kendrick's record-breaking Super Bowl halftime show performance. "Luther" was also featured as part of that high-profile set.
Kendrick and SZA are now gearing up for their joint "Grand National Tour" which kicks off on April 19th in Minneapolis. The arena tour will hit major markets across the U.S. through mid-June, including stops in Kendrick's hometown of Los Angeles and SZA's native St. Louis.
In a recent interview, SZA expressed openness to the idea of a full collaborative album with Kendrick, calling him a "genius" and saying she's been "trusting all of his expertise" on their recent collaborations like "Luther" and "Gloria."
With the two artists spending significant time together on the road for their upcoming tour, the possibility of a joint project seems to be on the table. However, SZA noted that nothing is set in stone at the moment.
Kendrick and SZA's chemistry and commercial success as a duo has solidified them as one of the top rapper-singer pairings in the game right now. Fans will be eager to see what other magic the two may create, whether it's on the tour stage or in the studio.
