Kendrick Lamar and SZA are proving to be an unstoppable musical duo, as their collaborative single "Luther" has now spent three consecutive weeks at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
This marks the longest run at the top spot for Kendrick, tying his previous chart-topping hits "Not Like Us" and "Like That." The continued success of "Luther" comes as Kendrick and SZA prepare to hit the road together on their upcoming "Grand National Tour," which kicks off on April 19th in Minneapolis and wraps up on June 18th in Landover, Maryland.
The tour will bring the two TDE superstars to major markets across the U.S., including Kendrick's hometown of Los Angeles and SZA's native St. Louis, as well as a stop in Drake's hometown of Toronto. Fans will no doubt be hoping to see more collaborations between Kendrick and SZA during the tour, especially after SZA expressed openness to the idea of a joint album with Kendrick.
In a recent interview, SZA told Sherri Shepherd that she would "love" to do a full collaborative album with Kendrick, praising him as a "genius" whose expertise she is happy to trust. With the extended time the two will spend together on the road, the possibility of a joint project certainly seems plausible, though nothing has been officially announced.
For now, Kendrick and SZA can bask in the continued success of "Luther," which has proven to be a mega-hit for the pair. The song's third week atop the Hot 100 solidifies their status as one of the most formidable duos in music today. Fans will surely be eagerly awaiting any further updates on potential future collaborations as the "Grand National Tour" approaches.
