Kanye West Unveils Brand New Yeezy Sneaker, The BL-01

Kanye West's independent Yeezy venture is continuing to expand, as the rapper-turned-designer has just unveiled a brand new sneaker model - the BL-01, also dubbed the "Bullys."

Just hours before this article was published, West took to social media to tease the first true Yeezy sneaker since his split from adidas in 2022. While the Yeezy Pods and SL-01 Yeezy Slippers have been part of his independent Yeezy line, the BL-01 represents a return to a more traditional sneaker silhouette.

However, Kanye is still maintaining the minimalist aesthetic that has become a hallmark of his Yeezy designs. The BL-01 features oversized, plush panels across a monochrome black upper, interrupted by curved mesh cutouts at the quarter and toe box. Notably, the slip-on construction of the Pods and SL-01 carries over, with the BL-01 eschewing traditional lacing.

Underfoot, the simplified rubber tread pattern also continues Kanye's function-first approach, with parallel grooves being the only real detail on the outsole.

While an official release date for the BL-01 has not yet been announced, it's likely that the sneaker will be made available through West's own yzy- website, as has been the case with his previous independent Yeezy releases. Pricing is also expected to remain in the $20 MSRP range that Kanye has maintained for his Yeezy products so far.
