In a recent social media spree, rap legend Kanye West revealed that his eldest daughter, North, has reignited his passion for music. The 44-year-old artist shared that North's request for him to make beats for her has led him to fall back in love with the art of beatmaking.
Alongside a picture of 11-year-old North in a recording studio, Ye wrote on Instagram: "This little girl made me love music again [smiling face with tears emoji]. She asked me to make beats for her I got back on the ASR Chopped up beats for her album and chopped every beats with my bare hand for BULLY."
West also shared a short clip of his daughter making her own beat on an ASR-10 sampling keyboard alongside his cousin and fellow artist Tony Williams, captioning it "training." This glimpse into their creative collaboration showcases the special bond between father and daughter, as well as Kanye's renewed enthusiasm for the music-making process.
Flaunting his rekindled love for Hip Hop, the Chicago native also paid tribute to his "hero," Master P, and shared screenshots of himself listening to classic songs from Scarface and Souls of Mischief. These tributes highlight the influential artists and sounds that have shaped Kanye's own musical journey.
The news of Kanye's renewed interest in beatmaking comes as he continues to work on his upcoming 11th solo album, Bully. In a series of Instagram posts earlier this month, Yeezy teased a reunion with his former close collaborator, Mike Dean, who has been estranged from the artist since around 2022.
While a release date for Bully has yet to be announced, Kanye has already shared a handful of songs from the project and unveiled the cover art, which features a close-up black-and-white photo of his 9-year-old son, Saint, rocking fanged grills similar to those Ye purchased last year.
This personal and creative connection with his children seems to have been the catalyst for Kanye's resurgence in the studio. As he embarks on a "fresh chapter" in his life, fans eagerly await the release of Bully, which promises to be a unique and deeply personal album, entirely produced by the artist himself.
