Green Suede Wraps a Neo-Vintage New Balance 2002R for Spring/Summer 2025

New Balance is gearing up for the warmer months of 2025 with a variety of suede-heavy options for their 2002R silhouette. Joining the "Passion Fruit" and "Green Apple" colorways is this striking green suede iteration, set to release in the Spring/Summer season.

The official images reveal a wider-than-usual mesh base, with grey leather underlays appearing around the forefoot. White leather accents can be found on the backtab, toe box, and quarter "N" logos, providing a nice contrast to the green suede paneling that wraps the majority of the upper.

Adding to the neo-vintage aesthetic are the pre-yellowed midsole and matching mesh base and laces. The ABZORB cushioning section alternates between green and light grey, completing the retro-inspired look.

While the 2002R may currently be overshadowed by New Balance's more popular silhouettes like the 9060 and 1906R, this latest suede-heavy offering proves that the model still has plenty to offer. For those looking to refresh their rotation ahead of the warmer months, these are set to hit New Balance US and select retailers in the very near future for the standard $145 MSRP.
