Get ready hip hop fans, the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards are making a big move to Las Vegas! For the first time ever, the annual awards show celebrating the best in hip hop music and culture will take place in Sin City on October 8, 2024.
This is a historic moment for the BET Hip Hop Awards, which originated in 2006 and has been held in Atlanta for all but three years. In 2017-2018, the show shifted to Miami, and in 2020 it took place in multiple locations due to the pandemic.
Now, BET is excited to bring the ceremony to the electrifying atmosphere of Las Vegas, a city known for its rich history of legendary entertainment. As BET President & CEO Scott Mills shared in a statement, "From the groundbreaking performances of icons like Sammy Davis Jr. and Lena Horne, to today's leading and emerging artists, Las Vegas' vibrant energy reflects the innovation, soul, and storytelling that Black culture continuously contributes."
The 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards will tape on October 8 and then premiere on BET on Tuesday, October 15 at 8pm ET/PT. BET is expected to announce the venue for the show next week.
Veteran producer Jesse Collins, who has executive produced the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show, will serve as an executive producer for the 2024 BET Hip Hop Awards alongside BET's Connie Orlando and Jamal Noisette.
