In a move that blends retro basketball style with modern Americana, adidas is giving Kareem Abdul-Jabbar's signature shoe a stylish new makeover. The latest iteration of the adidas Jabbar Hi features a faux cowhide upper, delivering a dressed-up, lifestyle-focused look that taps into the growing "Americana Core" trend.
The faux cowhide material takes center stage, completely transforming the classic basketball silhouette. Other key details include a brown leather adidas Jabbar logo on the tongue, white stripes, and a pre-faded Trefoil logo on the heel. Underfoot, the design is complete with a light brown gum sole.

This new cowhide-covered Jabbar Hi arrives amidst a broader resurgence of Kareem's iconic signature shoe. The model has already returned in its original white and blue colorways, in addition to recent collaborations with atmos and Footpatrol. Fashion designer Jerry Lorenzo of Fear of God also teased a premium version of the Jabbar Hi late last year, hinting at the growing demand for this retro hoops classic.
The cowhide-covered adidas Jabbar Hi is the latest in a line of animal print-inspired releases from the Three Stripes. Previous "Cheetah" colorways of the adidas Samba and adidas SL-72 proved to be hugely popular, flying off shelves. This new Jabbar Hi iteration is likely to follow suit, appealing to both sneakerheads and fashion-forward consumers seeking a stylish twist on a basketball icon.
An official U.S. release date for the cowhide adidas Jabbar Hi has not yet been announced, but we'll be sure to provide updates as more information becomes available. In the meantime, be sure to follow us on X for the latest news and updates on this and other must-have sneaker releases.
