Ab-Soul Demands Recognition for His Phenomenal Album 'Soul Burger'

In a series of passionate tweets, rapper Ab-Soul has expressed his frustration over the lack of attention his recent album "Soul Burger" has received. The 15-track project, released in November 2024, features collaborations with the likes of Lupe Fiasco, Vince Staples, Doechii, JID, and more.

"'SOUL BURGER' IS A PHENOMENAL BODY OF WORK. I PUT IT ALL ON THE TABLE. STOP PRETENDING TO OVERLOOK ME. ITS UNBECOMING OF THE CULTURE," Ab-Soul declared on Twitter. He went on to vow that he "WILL BE HEARD" and paid tribute to his close friend Armon "Doe Burger" Stringer, whose passing in 2021 served as a key inspiration for the album.

In an October interview, Ab-Soul explained the concept behind "Soul Burger," describing it as a fusion of himself and Doe Burger. "That's not me. It's like a new artist. It's not a Ab-Soul project, it's a Soul Burger project, so I recommend everybody listen to it in terms of that," he said.

The album follows Ab-Soul's critically acclaimed 2022 release "Herbert" and marks his sixth studio effort. With its eclectic lineup of features and deeply personal themes, "Soul Burger" seems to be a powerful and introspective project that deserves more recognition from the hip-hop community.

Ab-Soul's passionate pleas for his work to be heard and appreciated are a reminder that even established artists can sometimes feel overlooked. As fans, it's important that we take the time to listen to and support the music that artists like Ab-Soul are pouring their hearts into, rather than "pretending to overlook" their contributions to the culture.
