2 Chainz and Statik Selektah Deliver Heavyweight Collaboration Album

Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz is showing no signs of slowing down in 2025. Fresh off the release of his joint album Life Is Beautiful with Larry June and The Alchemist, 2 Chainz is now gearing up to drop another full-length project - this time with veteran producer Statik Selektah.

In an Instagram post over the weekend, Statik Selektah confirmed that the pair's highly anticipated collaborative album is set to arrive before the end of the year. And the supporting cast he revealed is nothing short of heavyweight.

Joining 2 Chainz and Statik on the album will be the likes of Lil Wayne, Westside Gunn, Mary J. Blige, Cee-Lo Green, and Larry June. Statik teased that this is just the start, with "way more features" still to be announced.

The 2 Chainz and Statik Selektah partnership dates back nearly a decade to their 2016 track "Smoke Break." They've reconnected on songs like "Man of the Hour" with Wiz Khalifa, and "Play Around" featuring Conway The Machine, Killer Mike, and Allan Kingdom.

Speaking to Hot 97 in 2023, Statik Selektah compared the upcoming album to JAY-Z's classic debut Reasonable Doubt, saying "This is his Reasonable Doubt. I just can't wait for people to hear it. It's coming."

Both 2 Chainz and Statik Selektah have carved out impressive independent paths in recent years. 2 Chainz departed his longtime label home of Def Jam in 2024, declaring "I'm not re-signing with Def Jam. So think of it like KD or like LeBron — the biggest free agent in the game."

Meanwhile, Statik Selektah has been a beacon of independent hip-hop for over a decade, running his own Showoff Records imprint.

With a stacked feature list and the high expectations set by both artists, this joint album is shaping up to be one of the must-listen projects of 2025. Fans won't have to wait much longer, as Statik promises it's "coming" before the year is out.
